Podcaster:
Hi, my name is Harshit, and I head the Digital Marketing team at the Jobaaj Group. I welcome you to this podcast, and I sincerely thank you for connecting with us and taking time out of your busy schedule to share your experience with us. Chandan, in this call, I just wanted to know a few things about yourself. Can you share your educational background, what you studied, and how you ended up in your current company? Also, how did Jobaaj help you in your placement journey?
Chandan:
Yeah, okay, so first of all, thank you for giving me this opportunity. Currently, I’m working at Amazon. I completed my BCA in 2021 from Oxford College of Computer Applications. Right after that, I joined Amazon as a Technical Operations Associate. My role is essentially that of a data analyst, though the job title is different here. I’ve been working at Amazon for almost two years and six months now. While I was happy at Amazon, I felt there was a need for career growth, and I wanted to explore more opportunities beyond my current role. That’s when I decided to start looking for a new job.
I created my profile on Naukri and started applying for various opportunities. Then one fine day, I got a call from Samir from Jobaaj Group. She told me about an opening at FedEx and asked if I was interested in switching jobs. I reviewed the job description, and it seemed like a great opportunity for me. I agreed to proceed, and Samir informed me that there would be a shortlisting process, followed by an aptitude test and an interview. I was excited and prepared for the process.
Podcaster:
That sounds great, Chandan! How long have you been working at Amazon now?
Chandan:
It’s been two years and six months.
Podcaster:
And what’s your specific role at Amazon?
Chandan:
As I mentioned earlier, my role is related to data analysis, but the title here is Technical Operations Associate.
Podcaster:
Sounds good! Now, if we talk about others who might be looking for a job, how would you recommend Jobaaj Group? What role did they play in helping you secure your placement?
Chandan:
The platform at Jobaaj is very interactive. They maintain consistent contact with candidates, and I never felt the need to ask too many questions because they were proactive in clearing my doubts. From the moment I created my profile, they made sure to provide me with all the necessary information upfront. Whenever there was an opportunity available, they would inform me immediately. I felt that Jobaaj acted like a strong bridge between me and the hiring companies.
Podcaster:
So the communication was really good, and they acted as a strong bridge between the company and you.
Chandan:
Exactly, they were always on top of everything. It was smooth and seamless.
Podcaster:
I agree, the communication was on point. Now, did you know about what Jobaaj does apart from sourcing candidates for companies?
Chandan:
Sorry, I’m not very familiar with what else Jobaaj does.
Podcaster:
No worries! Jobaaj Group works beyond just placements. We help individuals who may not have the specific skill sets needed for roles in industries like Financial Modeling, Investment Banking, or Data Analytics. We provide end-to-end preparation for fresh graduates who might not have the exact skills but are eager to learn and grow. We focus on equipping candidates with the skills they need to succeed in the job market, and then we place them in companies.
Chandan:
Ah, okay, I see. It’s a learn-and-earn model where Jobaaj prepares people with the right skills and helps them secure jobs.
Podcaster:
Exactly! What happens is that many fresh graduates don’t have the specialized skills needed to crack interviews. That’s where we come in, helping them build those skills and offering continuous support to get them placed in companies.
Chandan:
True, that’s really valuable.
Podcaster:
So, would you recommend Jobaaj to any of your friends or anyone who might be looking for such opportunities?
Chandan:
Definitely! I would definitely suggest them to explore Jobaaj for opportunities like this.

General interview questions answered by Chandan during his selection process
Tell us about your current role at Amazon and how it aligns with the job you are applying for.
Sample Answer: Currently, I’m working as a Technical Operations Associate at Amazon. Although my title is different, the role is aligned with data analysis. I handle large datasets, identify trends, and provide insights that guide business decisions. This role has honed my analytical skills and prepared me for a similar position in other companies, which is why I feel confident about this transition to FedEx.
Can you describe a specific project or task where you used data analysis to solve a problem?
Sample Answer: In my current role at Amazon, I worked on a project where we had to forecast product demand for a seasonal campaign. I used historical sales data to build a predictive model, which improved our inventory management and ensured that we didn’t run out of stock during peak demand periods. This contributed to a 15% increase in sales during that period.
How do you prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines?
Sample Answer: I use a combination of time management tools and strategies. I prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance. I also break down large tasks into smaller, manageable parts. I keep track of my deadlines using project management tools like Trello and Microsoft Teams, which helps me stay on top of everything and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
How do you handle situations where you need to learn new skills or technologies?
Sample Answer: I am always open to learning and staying updated with the latest technologies. When I need to learn something new, I start by researching the basics, using online courses, and practicing on projects. I also seek guidance from mentors and colleagues to speed up the learning process.
What do you think are the most important qualities for someone in a data analyst role?
Sample Answer: Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and proficiency in data analysis tools are essential qualities. Additionally, good communication skills are crucial for presenting data findings in a way that non-technical stakeholders can understand and act on.
How would you deal with a situation where there is a delay in your work due to external factors (e.g., waiting for data or approvals)?
Sample Answer: In such situations, I focus on what I can control. I prioritize other tasks that I can complete in the meantime and keep stakeholders updated on the progress. If the delay persists, I communicate with the relevant team to expedite the process or find alternative solutions.
