Podcaster:

Good evening, everyone! Welcome back to another episode of our success story podcast. Today, we have with us Karishma, who recently landed a role as a Digital Marketing Executive. How are you doing, Karishma?

Karishma:

I’m doing very well, thank you!

Podcaster:

That’s great to hear! So, let’s start by talking about the company where you got placed. Could you tell us more about it and your journey, including the challenges you faced and how you ultimately got the placement?

Karishma:

Sure! So, I recently got this opportunity with a company called The Great Herbal. It’s a cosmetic manufacturing firm based in Noida. The interview process was smooth, and I found everything I learned through the Jobaaj Digital Marketing Program very helpful in securing this job.

Podcaster:

That’s fantastic! Can you tell us about the learning experience you had through the Jobaaj Digital Marketing Program?

Karishma:

Definitely! I first learned about Jobaaj through a webinar conducted by Harshit on Digital Marketing. The way he explained everything was really engaging. After attending the webinar, I felt convinced that Jobaaj was the right choice for me. The program is structured very well, with modules on Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Google Analytics, SEO, Canva, and even the role of AI in Digital Marketing. Everything was organized in a way that made the learning experience very beneficial for me.

Podcaster:

That sounds amazing! Was there any specific module or project that you found most useful or interesting during your learning?

Karishma:

Yes! I was particularly interested in performance marketing, so I focused a lot on Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and Meta Ads. I even used the knowledge I gained to take on a freelance project for Meta Ads, which turned out to be very interesting and helpful. Although I haven’t fully applied everything in the real world yet, learning about Meta Ads was definitely a highlight.

Podcaster:

It’s great to see you already applying your skills! Now, let’s talk about the placement process. You mentioned that Jobaaj helped you with several interviews. How was the interview preparation and overall experience during the placement process?

Karishma:

Oh, absolutely! The assignment I received from Harshit was a game-changer. It involved creating social media content for the beauty industry, which turned out to be very relevant since I ended up securing a role at a cosmetics company. This assignment helped me build a portfolio, which was crucial when applying for social media roles.

Podcaster:

It seems like the assignment was instrumental in your success. So, what was the interview experience like for you?

Karishma:

Initially, I connected with Manya, who was fantastic throughout the process. She helped me with interview preparation and guided me with some opportunities in Pune. However, I ended up getting a placement in Noida, which worked out well for me. The support from Jobaaj, especially from Manya, was really great, and I felt well-prepared for the interview.

Podcaster:

That’s wonderful! Now, as a parting note, do you have any advice for students who are preparing for digital marketing placements? What challenges did you face that might help others?

Karishma:

I would say the digital marketing and social media field is highly competitive, and it’s crucial to have a sharp eye for observation. Whether you’re creating content or working on performance marketing, things change constantly. Creativity is key, as even a simple idea can go viral and bring significant attention. So, my advice would be to stay observant and remain creative.

Podcaster:

Great advice, Karishma! One final question—how long did it take for you to complete the entire curriculum and land your placement?

Karishma:

I joined Jobaaj in August, and I got access to the modules and tools right away. I started applying for jobs in March, and by the end of April, I had secured my placement. So, it took me around three months from starting the course to landing the role.

Podcaster:

That’s a great timeline! Finally, where do you see yourself in the next few years within this field?

Karishma:

As of now, I’m still in the learning phase. Digital marketing, especially performance marketing, is ever-evolving. I plan to keep learning and staying updated with the latest trends and algorithms to stay ahead in the field.

General interview questions answered by Karishma during her selection process

Can you tell us about a challenging situation during your digital marketing course, and how you overcame it?

Sample Answer: One of the challenges I faced was mastering performance marketing techniques, especially with Google Ads and LinkedIn Ads. It was overwhelming at first because of the depth of the tools. However, I took extra time to go through the materials, asked for help when needed, and practiced continuously. The hands-on experience helped me gain confidence, and eventually, I felt more comfortable using the platforms.

What is your experience with performance marketing, and which platforms are you most comfortable with?

Sample Answer: I’ve had hands-on experience with Google Ads, Meta Ads, and LinkedIn Ads, and I’ve learned how to analyze data, target specific audiences, and optimize campaigns for better performance. My strongest focus was on Google Ads, as it’s essential for driving high-quality traffic. I’ve also worked on campaigns as a freelancer, helping clients achieve their marketing goals through these platforms.

What role does data play in your digital marketing strategies?

Sample Answer: Data is crucial in digital marketing, as it allows us to measure the performance of our campaigns and understand what works and what doesn’t. Using tools like Google Analytics and Meta Ads insights, I analyze metrics such as click-through rates, conversion rates, and audience demographics to refine and optimize campaigns. Data helps in making informed decisions that drive better results.

What kind of social media content do you think resonates most with audiences, and why?

Sample Answer: I believe content that is visually engaging, informative, and emotionally relatable performs best. Whether it's a catchy graphic or an informative video, people are drawn to content that solves a problem, entertains, or gives them value. In the beauty industry, for example, before-and-after product demonstrations, testimonials, and tutorials work really well.

Can you describe a time when you had to work under pressure to meet a tight deadline in a marketing campaign?

Sample Answer: During my internship, I was tasked with launching a campaign for a product within a week. The timeline was tight, but I stayed organized by breaking down the tasks and prioritizing key actions. I collaborated closely with my team and ensured we communicated regularly. Despite the pressure, we successfully launched the campaign on time, and it resulted in a notable increase in engagement.

How do you approach creating a marketing strategy for a new product or service?

Sample Answer: I start by understanding the target audience and their needs. Then, I analyze competitors and the market to identify opportunities. Based on these insights, I set clear objectives and choose the right channels—whether it’s social media, Google Ads, or email marketing. I continuously measure performance and optimize the strategy for better results.

What do you think is the most important skill for a digital marketer to possess?

Sample Answer: The most important skill is adaptability. Digital marketing is a fast-paced field, and strategies or tools can change rapidly. A digital marketer must be able to learn new techniques, stay on top of trends, and quickly adjust strategies to remain competitive. Creativity and data analysis skills also complement adaptability and contribute to success.
